The worlds of sport and business are frequently intertwined; whether it’s simply the business of sport, or an extraction of the finer aspects of athletic and team discipline so commonly absorbed into corporate dogma.
Tuesday’s One-Zero 2017 conference on business and marketing puts shape on the idea, lining up an impressive list of speakers and guests to champion this notion of leadership.
It includes the likes of AP McCoy talking to Paddy Power, as well as appearances from Frank Bruno, Arsenal great Paul Merson and Irish Lions Sean O'Brien and Tadhg Furlong.
There is a “VIP exclusive leadership lunch” with Brian O’Driscoll whose on-field achievements are always ripe for translation to the boardroom.
Aside from a glamorous rollcall of sporting A-listers, the conference pitches itself as an opportunity to network with “the people who matter in business” and who, naturally, share a love for competitive pursuits.
One-Zero organiser say its second large scale annual event aims to provide insight from “exceptional leaders, experiences from sporting greats, engaging and challenging discussion, and the visions of those looking to disrupt the multi-faceted industry that is sport”.
