The Campbell Bewley group has confirmed the purchase of the California coffee company, Java City, for $16 million (£14.2 million). The company already has interests in the US with its chain of Rebecca's coffee shops, which has 35 outlets in the Boston area.

Java City has a coffee roasting factory, 37 outlets and 300 licensed cafes throughout the US.
