The Bank of Ireland is to launch Net Guardian, which it says is Ireland's and Europe's first virtual credit wallet, powered by Trintech's Payware eIssuer technology, later this year.

Net Guardian, described as "a powerful and secure consumer payment tool for Internet transactions, unrivalled by any other producer in the market", ensures that cardholder details are authenticated and authorised before a transaction is conducted.
