THE Korean giant Daewoo is to invest £15 million sterling in an expansion of its video recorder plant in Antrim, which is expected to create 330 new jobs by the end of this year.

The North's Economy Minister, Baroness Jean Denton is to announce the investment today.

Daewoo, which established its Antrim plant in 1988, is aiming to triple its share on the European video recorder market.

Meanwhile the North's Industrial Development Board is understood to be in talks with the US company Emmerson Electric, about setting up a factory in Co Tyrone. The multi million pound plant would make refrigeration products and would create several hundred jobs.
