Huawei has unveiled its latest set of earbuds, the Freebuds Pro 2. The updated noise cancelling earbuds bring the expertise of French audio company Devialet, promising better audio quality and a system that tunes audio according to the structure of your ear canal, the earbud position and volume.

Huawei also claims better active noise cancellation, with a triple mic system that boosts ANC depth by 15 per cent compared to the original Freebuds Pro. Intelligent Dynamic ANC 2.0 automatically selects the best noise-cancelling mode to eliminate noise depending on your environment.

The earbuds also have a dual-driver system that intelligently co-ordinates two drivers to ensure they work together for better audio performance, and they are certified for high-resolution audio.

All that means personalised sound being delivered in real time, and better audio overall, although we’ll hold judgment on that until the review is done. That sound quality is extended to voice calls, with a four-mic system and wind cancellation to make sure the calls are crystal clear. And you’ll get an acceptable battery life out of them, with four hours of ANC-powered listening and up to 18 hours with the case, and 6.5 hours without ANC enabled and up to 30 hours with the case – which is compatible with wireless chargers.
