Wexford have the firepower

GAELIC GAMES:JASON RYAN this week described Limerick as the most unlucky team in the country, and the Wexford manager wasn't being facetious.

Their narrow defeats to both Cork and Kerry in the Munster championship in recent years would be enough to break the heart of any footballer, yet they keep battling on, and some day that luck is bound to turn.

Limerick will want a better return from Ian Ryan, though the loss of midfielder John Galvin earlier in the season could start haunting them at this stage.

Ryan has beefed up his team a little by giving PJ Banville a first start, with centre back David Murphy also passed fit to play despite injury to his shoulder.

Ciarán Lyng and Redmond Barry probably only played in patches against Dublin, but Ben Brosnan again proved himself a real handful that day and Wexford have the potential to rack up big tallies as they showed against Offaly (2-16), Westmeath (1-24) and Carlow (4-12).
