THE north Dublin schoolboys' club is one of the most successful in the country and has produced a string of Irish internationals, at all levels, since it was formed in 1971.

Take a look at today's Irish in Britain list and you'll spot plenty of Belvedere old boys (including Middlesborough's Curtis Fleming, Wimbledon's Mark Kennedy, Millwall's Richard Sadlier and John Burns of Nottingham Forest) while over 40 of the club's former players are National League first team regulars, including St Patrick's Thomas Morgan and Keith Doyle, Shamrock Rovers' Gino Brazil and Tony Cousins and Derek Swan, in the goals yesterday for Bohemians.

The website's photo gallery alone makes it worth a visit, not least for its old pictures of Brazil (dodgy haircut and even dodgier moustache), Morgan (receiving the Belvedere Young Player of the Year award back in 1990) and Orient's Kwame Ampadu (in action for the Irish Under-21s Ampadu was Belvedere player of the year in 1988).
