ULSTER'S Jonathan Cowan and Andrea Glover defend their singles titles in the National Table Tennis Championships in Bangor tomorrow.

In the absence of Irish number one Colum Slevin, Cowan is the top seed in the men's event. The Strathclyde University student beat Andrew Dennison last year to win his third national title and is seeded to meet his fellow Irish international, also a native of Belfast in tomorrow evening's final.

In the women's event, Dubliner Tara Bollard and Brioni Lane of Athlone are expected to be the main challengers to Glover, who beat Geraldine Greene in Galway last year to win her first national senior title.

Bollard is the national number one, but 17-year-old Lane has been the player in form this season and will travel to Bangor as slight favourite for the title.
