A very difficult group for Ireland. They will hope to inspire memories of the 2002 World Cup qualifying when they finished above the Netherlands to qualify for the tournament (who were managed by Louis van Gaal back then as well). World Cup holders France need know introduction. Greece provide a stiff test as a fourth seeded team. Gibraltar finish out the group.

Only positive is the likes of Kylian Mbappé and Frenkie De Jong will be making their way to the Aviva in a series of glamorous ties, while trips to Athens, Paris and Amsterdam will suit travelling fans.
