APPLICATIONS are now being accepted by UCD for its 1996/97 postgraduate diploma in marketing practice.

The diploma is aimed at recently qualified marketing graduates and it has a practical orientation with the emphasis on helping students to make the transition from university to the professional working environment.

Throughout the nine month course students remain based at the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business and visit different companies to complete specific marketing assignments and gain experience of various types of companies. If the prospect of home produced honey on your breakfast table sounds attractive, the introductory course in apiculture run by the Co Dublin Beekeepers' Association might be a good place to start learning about the age old art of beekeeping.

The course, which begins on February 6th, is designed for people with no previous knowledge of beekeeping and it covers all the practical aspects of getting going for the very modest fee of £10. Further information is available from Billy Mellon on (01) 288 0018.

If you are planning a return to work or a career change in 1996 the career development course run by the education department of the Well Woman Centre may be of interest.

The two day course is run over a weekend and it is on offer on February 17/18th or May 18/19th. It will help participants assess their personal skills, develop their job search abilities and look at different career options.
