Still with running, over 32,000 people started the 20th London Marathon last Sunday and a record number of over 30,000 finished. That's more than five times the number who crossed the line the first time it was run in 1981. The numbers were so large this year that it took competitors at the back of the field 17 minutes (just about the length of time to make an unfit person tired) to cross the starting line.
