Powerscourt created a little piece of history when claiming the club's first ever ILGU plaque in the Eastern District's Autumn Teams Finals, sponsored by Clarins, at Malahide GC yesterday. In the "Fifth Team" final, Powerscourt cruised to a 4-1 win over Howth with Carol Lowe, Gwen McKeon, Ursula Dowling, Mary Rose Assaf and Yvonne O'Callaghan having the distinction of winning the club its first women's inter-club title.

However, there was some solace for Howth, who beat Dun Laoghaire in the Junior Cup final. Carmel McCanna proved to be the Howth match-winner in the closest encounter of the day. She was one up on Nicky Robinson playing the last and, with the trophy at stake, halved the hole for a one up victory to ensure an overall 3-2 success for the Howth women.

The other finals provided comprehensive wins for Ardee and Beech Park. Ardee beat Ballinascorney by a 4-1 margin in the "Third Team" final to finish off a great campaign in which they also beat Luttrellstown Castle, Forrest Little, Laytown and Bettystown, Malahide and Hermitage. Meanwhile, Beech Park secured the "Fourth Team" title with a 4-1 win over The Island.
