Irish canoeist Jim Morrissey is back on dry land celebrating his record breaking crossing of St George's Channel in the Preselli Canoe Challenge, the long distance race started in 1995. Morrissey was part of a three-man team that took over an hour off the record time for the journey from St David's Head in Wales across to Rosslare Point.

Setting out at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, Morrissey, along with Sean Morley and Ian Wilson from England, reached Rosslare 11 hours 6 minutes later - well inside the previous record of 12 hours 45.
