The wild geese Geordan Murphy continued his impressive form of late for Leicester and offered a timely reminder to Ireland coach Warren Gatland just a week prior to Ireland's refixed Six Nations championship match against Scotland at Murrayfield.

Murphy crossed for Leicester's final try in their victory over Gloucester on Saturday, the game's outstanding score. The former Newbridge College schoolboy will be vying for one of the wing spots on the Irish team, given that Girvan Dempsey has been in excellent form for Leinster and should command the full back berth. Denis Hickie will be on one wing with Shane Horgan or Murphy likely to be on the other. Kevin Maggs (right) was another looking to enhance his credentials when playing for Bath, bidding to partner Brian O'Driscoll at Murrayfield in the absence of Rob Henderson. Maggs could not prevent his team from going down to Saracens, Bath's third straight defeat. On the winning side in that encounter was Darragh O'Mahony who helped to create on of his side's two tries.
