Out of favour Derry City striker Michael McHugh looks set to leave the Brandywell for Irish League side Coleraine after last night agreeing to an eight-week loan which, if things go to plan, will be turned into a permanent move.

The 28-year-old's capture from Omagh Town last summer was viewed as something of a coup for Felix Healy but the player failed to reproduce the strike rate that generated the initial interest.

"Coleraine made contact with us last week regarding his availability," said Mahon "and with Andy Moran's arrival I have seven players who can play up front so there's no guarantee of a first team place."

Bohemians, meanwhile, will bring in 22-year-old American centre-half Mark Bennett from New York tomorrow for a six-week trial at the Dalymount Park club. Manager Roddy Collins has a number of injury problems with defensive players and is hoping that Bennett, who should be elegible for next week's League Cup match, will do well enough to earn a long-term contract.

Don O'Riordan has also been forced to add to his Galway United squad following the broken collar bone sustained by recently arrived goalkeeper Mick Flowers during last weekend's draw at Shelbourne.

O'Riordan has brought in 19-year-old David Forde, who played for Galway Hibernians last season.
