We were tempted to make Liam George our Player of the Week, after his eighth goal in 12 starts gave Luton a 1-0 win over Oxford on Saturday; we were tempted, too, to honour 20-year-old James O'Connor, who has now established himself in the Stoke first team, scoring the first of his team's goals in a 2-0 win against Wrexham at the weekend (with fellow Dubliner Graham Kavanagh getting the second) but Stephen Carr takes the award for that goal against Manchester United at White Hart Lane. Like Mark Bosnich we hardly saw it - a similar effort against Turkey would be nice.
