Just think, Robbie Keane was five and 2/12ths and probably too busy playing with his stickle bricks back in September 1985 to notice Tony Cascarino making his Irish debut away to Switzerland in a World Cup qualifier.

Keane, of course, and Mark Kennedy were in contention for the Irish Player of the Week award after their wonder goals against Yugoslavia, but, instead, we've opted to honour the elder statesman of Irish football who became the Republic's most capped player on Wednesday night, making his 84th appearance, his 45th as a substitute.

A couple of goals against Malta on Wednesday evening and Cascarino will probably clinch this award again next week - that's all he needs to break Frank Stapleton's Irish goal-scoring record.
