THE FAI have confirmed tickets for this year’s Ford-sponsored FAI Cup final will again be priced at €10 and €5 for adults and children respectively. Last year the reduced prices helped to attract over 36,000 spectators, the largest crowd for the competition’s decider in decades.

This year’s final will be played on Sunday, November 6th at 3.30pm and tickets will initially be marketed through the two clubs, with Ticketmaster also selling them closer to the date.

Tickets for Shamrock Rovers’ game against UCD at Belfield next Monday have already gone on sale with the two clubs reporting brisk business yesterday. Rovers, who head to Greece for Thursday’s Europa League game against PAOK today, may already have won the title before the trip to UCD if results go their way on Friday night but club chairman Jonathan Roche expects strong support either way.

“It would be a little bit different if the race was to be over,” he says, “but I think people will want to be there anyway and we had a queue here this morning when tickets went on sale.”
