Dully on the move northside

PADRAIG DULLY, signed only three months ago by Ray Treacy from Shelbourne, is set to move from Shamrock Rovers to Bohemians before tomorrow's transfer deadline for an, as yet, undisclosed fee.

The 31-year-old striker scored three goals in his first six games at Rovers, which coincided with a run of five wins and a draw for his new club, but just as suddenly the goals dried up for both player and team. Omitted by the Alan O'Neill-Terry Eviston managerial partnership for their first game, Dully is now being let go.

Making way for him at Dalymount Park is Ian Douglas, who has joined Finn Harps for the rest of the season on loan. The Donegal club have also re-signed their former midfielder John Quigg from Omagh.

Another striker with a relatively short-lived stay at a new club is Derry City's close-season capture Sandy Frazer, who is set to return to the Irish League with Ballymena in a player-exchange deal with Barry Patton. Derry manager Felix Healy warned yesterday that unless the deal is completed by noon today it will be called off.

Meanwhile, Paul Doolin has agreed to a new deal which will keep him at the Brandywell for the next two years. Healy, determined to re-build his squad has, also signed two teenagers, Thomas McCallion, a midfielder who captained the Northern Ireland Youth team last year, and Ryan Semple, who has seen service with Peterborough.

Galway United also moved yesterday to beat the FAI Cup deadline by signing Donal Flynn (18), a fullback from Mansfield.
