Dublin opt for minor changes

There are two changes in the Dublin team for Saturday's All-Ireland minor football final replay against Tyrone, set for Breffni Park in Cavan (3.30). Manager Paddy Canning gives starting places to defender Danny McGann and forward Donal Farrell.

McCann replaced Graham Dent during Sunday's drawn match, and did likewise in the semi-final win over Kerry. This time, though, the St Mark's player will start at right corner back, with David Galvin switching corners.

Centre forward Mark Taylor is still feeling the effects of an ankle injury picked up in Sunday's final and that has brought about a reshuffle in attack. Regular full forward Graham Cullen moves out to centre forward and Fingallians man Farrell, who started in the Leinster final win over Offaly, comes in at full forward.

David O'Callaghan, the last-minute-goal hero on Sunday, stays at right corner forward, with John Noonan, who picked up 0-6 on Sunday, in the other corner.

Opponents Tyrone have settled on an unchanged starting line-up, but manager Martin Coyle has doubts over two key players. Midfielder Seβn Cavanagh and centre forward Barry Mulligan picked up injuries in Sunday's game and will undergo late fitness tests on Saturday morning.

Cavanagh is troubled with a thigh injury and even though he was able to get through Sunday's game, his fitness is in doubt. Mulligan received a shin injury that forced his substitution near the end.

There had been some injury worries over team captain and influential midfielder Peter Donnelly, along with defender Paul Quinn, but both players have recovered sufficiently.

"We were gutted at what happened in Croke Park last Sunday," said joint manager Liam Donnelly, "but we were delighted with the overall team performance and that's why we've given a vote of confidence to the team that started. We're ready to give it another big effort."

This year's GOAL football challenge, between All-Ireland champions Galway and Westmeath, ended in a draw, 5-11 each, before a crowd of 10,000 at Tuam Stadium last evening. Galway, who rested some of their starting 15 from last Sunday in the opening half, trailed 3-7 to 3-5 at the interval.
