HEINEKEN CUP:THE DRAW for the pool stages of the 2011-12 Heineken Cup will take place on Tuesday, June 7th, at Twickenham Stadium, the venue for the 17th Heineken Cup final next May.

The composition of the four tiers from which the 24 teams will be drawn has not yet been finalised by the ERC, but as first and third seeds, Leinster and Munster will be in the top tier, while Ulster appear to be in the third tier and Connacht in the fourth, where they could be accompanied by three French teams in Castres, Montpellier and Racing.

Dublin University won the inaugural All Ireland sevens in Templeville on Saturday. Trinity’s reward is to be Ireland’s representative in Denmark at the Scandinavian Sevens in August.

Trinity denied Old Belvedere an All Ireland senior double (having won the AIL League) 28-10 in the final.

In the semi-finals, Trinity defeated City of Derry 21-7 and Belvedere beat UL Bohemians on the “golden try” rule in extra time.

The Trinity squad was: Scott LaValla, Philip Blake, Will Scott, Ciarán Wade, Ariel Roblez, Colm Moore, James O’Donoghue, Sam Bell, Colin MacDonnell and Niyi Adeolukan.

UL Bohemians won the women’s tournament.
