Wexford v Limerick:NO TEAM can afford to jump ahead at this stage but it will be impossible for Limerick and Wexford not to think about the carrot on offer here. If Galway do, as expected, beat Clare, then whoever wins here will play Laois in the next phase, and that's far from the most daunting opposition for this time of year.

Both teams have improving to do on their last performance if they are to come through, the outcome depending on who improves the most. Limerick manager Justin McCarthy hasn’t been shy to make changes from the poor Munster semi-final replay against Waterford, dropping Ollie Moran, Paul Browne and Denis Moloney for Wayne McNamara, Donncha Sheehan and Gavin O’Mahony. Séamus Hickey reverts to wing back. The hope is dual players Stephen Lucey and Mark O’Riordan, who did well for the footballers against Cork, can maintain such enthusiasm.

Wexford have Keith Rossiter and Darren Stamp returning from injury to beef up the defence, which failed to handle Dublin in the semi-final. PJ Nolan is recalled at right-half forward, while Eanna Martin replaces Stephen Banville, who has glandular fever. There is a first championship start for Harry Kehoe, who partners Diarmuid Lyng at midfield.

Home advantage should see Wexford through.
