Sir, – I welcome and probably support all suggestions made by Una Mullally in her “Thirty ways to quickly improve life in Dublin” (Opinion & Analysis, December 11th). Most of them have been suggested by a city councillor over the years. The next article I would like to see is “A call to transfer powers and funding to allow Dublin City Council implement those 30 worthwhile measures”. Step one: abolish the Department of Housing and Local Government and create a new department for housing and local government. – Yours, etc,
