Temperatures are likely to soar even futher in Dublin tonight as thousands of fans descend on the Point Theatre to see boyband Take That in action.

Robbie Williams may be missing but that's unlikely to dampen the enthusiasm of those looking forward to seeing Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen in the flesh.

The band, who will also be playing at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Saturday night, are expected to perform all their big hits including Back For Good, It Only Take a Minuteand Relight My Fire.

Also in Dublin tonight, The Trinity Ball is set to take place with Ocean Colour Scene, The Futureheads, Felix Da Housecat and Republic of Loose among those lined up to play.

Sporting fans are also in for a treat with golf, rugby and GAA events all taking place around the country over the weekend.

The Irish Amateur Open Golf Championship is scheduled to start at Portmarnock tonight and will run until Sunday.

At Lansdowne Road, All-Ireland Rugby League Final matches are to take place on Saturday with Clonakilty meeting Suttonians in the Division Three final at 2.p.m followed by the Division One final which sees Clontarf challenging seven-times winners Shannon at 4 p.m

There's also plenty of GAA action on this weekend with both football and hurling matches taking place around the country.

In Thurles, both the Munster Intermediate Championship and Senior Championship games will take place at Semple Stadium on Sunday with Tipperary due to meet Limerick. This will be followed later in the day by the National League Camogie Final.

AA Roadwatch warn that a traffic plan will be in operation during the afternoon and that traffic coming from Limerick will be diverted and should obey the signs.

Met Eireann has predicted that temperatures are likely to be cooler around the country on Saturday with the possibility of morning showers. Sunday is expected to begin brighter but there may be some rain later in the day.

Thousands of surfers from all around Ireland will converge on Lahinch in Co Clare this weekend aiming to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest number of surfers ever to surf a single wave at once. The current world record is 47. The crew in Lahinch are hoping to better this by 100!
