A woman is recovering in hospital today after being shot in the leg in a Dublin pub last night. The incident occurred at 10.35 p.m. on Benburb Street.

It is understood that a lone gunman fired one or two shots into the licensed premises before making his getaway on a motorbike or a scooter.

The woman, who is a Spanish tourist, was shot in the leg. She was brought to Dublin’s Mater Hospital where she is said to be in a stable condition.

Gardaí have not yet established a motive for the attack.
