Six gardaí were injured and four garda vehicles were damaged following scuffles with members of the Travelling community in County Dublin last night.

The altercation occurred at a halting site at Mulhuddart just after 10 p.m.

The injured gardaí, with head, arm and neck injuries, were taken to The James Connolly Memorial Hospital and all were released after treatment.

Two men were arrested for public order offences and a file is being prepared for the DPP.
