The trial of a nun charged with 63 counts of indecent assault against seven of her former pupils has been adjourned until Tuesday, following legal discussions yesterday.

Sr Mary Theresa Grogan, (62) also known as Sr Peter, has denied all charges against her.

The offences are alleged to have taken place at a primary school in the midlands from 1973 to 1977.

The trial has been moved to Sligo from the area where the alleged offences took place.

The complainants, all women, have alleged that they were indecently assaulted by the nun when they were in third class at a primary school in their community.

Following legal submissions on the third day of the trial at Sligo Circuit Court yesterday, Judge Donagh McDonagh adjourned proceedings until Tuesday next, November 20th.
