Missing Irish man believed found in Paris

A Kerry man who went missing in Paris in September has reportedly been found in the French capital.

John Kennelly (47) went missing in Paris after leaving his hotel at 7am on September 9th. He had told his family he was going for a walk.

An appeal was issued to Irish rugby fans who were in Paris for the World Cup, and travel agents issued photographs of Mr Kennelly.

It is understood Mr Kennelly was taking medicine for high blood pressure but did not have it with him at the time of his disappearance.

Mr Kennelly had travelled to France with his wife and two of his children to attend a trade fair related to his wife's furniture business, and the family was due to return home later that evening.

Family friend and Fine Gael Kerry North TD, Jimmy Deenihan, issued a statement this morning in which he expressed his delight that Mr Kennelly has been found. It is understood Mr Kennelly was identified after presenting himself at a medical facility in the city.

The Department of Foreign Affairs told ireland.comthis morning that it was "aware of a development" in the case and would continue to monitor the situation.
