Gardaí investigating the murder last year of Rachel O'Reilly were last night continuing to detain a man arrested yesterday morning.
The 35-year-old was arrested at a house in Crumlin, Dublin, shortly before 7am and taken to Balbriggan Garda station.
He was detained under Section 9 of the Offences Against the State Act, and was being questioned on suspicion of withholding information. The man can be held without charge until Friday morning, when gardaí must release or charge him.
He is not suspected of having murdered Ms O'Reilly. He is a close associate of the chief suspect in the case.
Ms O'Reilly (30) was found dead at her home in Baldarragh, near Naul, Co Dublin, by her mother, Rose Callely, on October 4th last year. She died after receiving several blows to the head with a blunt instrument.
Three people, including the chief suspect, a male colleague and a female friend, were arrested and questioned in November, but were released without charge.
Last week gardaí exhumed Ms O'Reilly's body and retrieved notes which had been left in the coffin.
