Man held over fatal Wexford crash

A man in his late teens has been arrested in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in Co Wexford last month.

A man in his late teens has been arrested in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in Co Wexford last month.

A 19-year-old man was killed after the car in which he was travelling hit a wall and entered the water in Courtown Harbour in Co Wexford at about 10.30pm on Friday, June 15th.

Gardaí from Gorey investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash arrested a youth this morning.

The man was arrested in the Wexford area shortly after 9am and is currently detained at Gorey Garda station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses to come forward. Anyone who may have been in the Ballinatray area between 10pm and 11pm on the day of the collision particularly around Seamount, is asked to contact them in Gorey on 053-9430690, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
