Gardaí arrested a 26-year-old man and seized an array of weapons including guns and petrol bombs during a number of searches in Co Kerry this morning.
The searches were carried out as part of an ongoing investigation into a feud between a number of Traveller families in the county.
The arrest was made after a shotgun was seized during the search of a vehicle wgucg was stopped by gardaí on the Tralee/Castleisland road shortly after midnight. The sole occupant was held under Section 30 of the offences against the State Act and is currently being detained at Tralee Garda station.
During a follow up search of a house in the Mitchels Crescent area of Tralee, another shotgun, three petrol bombs, two samurai swords, a slash hook, a knife and two balaclavas were recovered.
