Kerry Group chief executive Stan McCarthy received a salary increase of 21 per cent last year, bringing his total remuneration to €2.1 million.

According to the company’s annual report, Mr McCarthy was paid a basic salary of €810,000 - in line with the previous two years.

However, this was boosted by a performance-related bonus of €1.062 million, up from €833,000 in 2009 and €578,000 the previous year. In addition Mr Mc Carthy received pension payments of €182,000 plus benefit in kind.

Chief financial officer Brian Mehigan received a salary increase of just under 4 per cent from €978,000 in 2009 to €1.015 million last year.

Chairman Denis Buckley received fees of €209,000, in line with 2009.

In total, fees of €790,886 were paid to the company's non-executive directors for the year, up marginally from the €789,760 paid in 2009.

Flor Healy, head of Kerry Foods, saw total renumeration fall from €1.063 million to €975 million, while Gerry Behan, head of Kerry Ingredients and Flavours in the Americas, saw total remuneration increase slightly from €1.13 million to €1.16 million.

Kerry Group's revenues topped €5 billion last year with trading profit increasing by 11.3 per cent to €470 million.

Kerry's food and ingredients division accounted for 75 per cent of the company's revenues.
