Waterford hurling manager Justin McCarthy has reshuffled his team for Sunday's All-Ireland hurling quarter-final replay against Cork, making two changes in personnel and a few more positional switches.

Brian Phelan comes into the left corner back position in place of James Murray, a switch that was in fact made at half-time in last Sunday's epic draw. Shane Walsh also comes into midfield in a swap with Jack Kennedy, who moves down to the bench.

The forwards are rotated in typical Waterford fashion, with Stephen Molumphy this time named at right half forward, Eoin Kelly at left half forward and Paul Flynn at left corner forward - although it remains to be seen exactly where they'll line out.

Cork will start with the same 15 as last Sunday, which means Niall McCarthy must be content with a place on the bench, despite his telling impact, as must Kevin Hartnett and Cathal Naughton.

Tyrone football captain Brian Dooher was last night selected to face Meath in tomorrow's All-Ireland quarter-final against Meath at Croke Park, although manager Mickey Harte admitted there was still a doubt about his fitness.

Dooher is the only Tyrone survivor from the last championship meeting between the sides in 1996, but continues to be troubled by a groin injury: "He's still doubtful," explained Harte. "Last Saturday we didn't think he'd make it at all. On Monday things had improved a bit, and he did a little training on his own on Wednesday night. But we're keeping all options open, leaving the decision to the last minute if need be. We'll give him all the time, naturally, he needs.

"It's a new problem he has, with the groin, and maybe it has come after having so many other injuries, that he was putting stress on other areas, without realising it. We just don't know. But he's been having various treatments, and it is improving. But he's fitter anyway, that's for sure."

In the meantime, Harte has re-jigged his defence, hardly surprising given their torrid time against Monaghan in the Ulster final, with only Ryan McMenamin remaining in place. Joe McMahon moves from midfield to replace Ciarán Gourley at full back, while Damien McCaul comes in for his first championship start in place of Dermot Carlin in the left corner.

Kevin Hughes, who started at full forward in the provincial decider, resumes his midfield partnership with Seán Cavanagh. The reshuffle sees Gerard Cavlan switch from wing forward to full forward, with Ryan Mellon recalled at left half forward.

Stephen O'Neill is still out of the starting 15 with his knee tendonitis - and Harte is clearly concerned about the enduring injury problems: "It's always difficult when these injuries are with players you would normally want to start. That always diminishes your potential. The players you want to start are always the ones with the experience."

Harte is also expecting Tyrone's biggest challenge to date against Meath: "The way I look at it, every team still in the All-Ireland series at this stage is successful. That's why they're there.

"It's well known Meath play a particularly brand of football that serves them well, playing to their own strength. But it's the old story, if we play very well we'd expect to win. If we don't play well we won't win. But we'll do our best to make the most of it."

As expected, Sligo manager Tommy Brehony has announced the same starting 15 that claimed the Connacht title last month for their quarter-final against Cork - also at Croke Park tomorrow.

With both Eamon O'Hara and John McPartland both fully recovered from injury, there is just one position switch, with Seán Davey named at full forward, having been named at left half forward the last day. As a result, Mark Breheny moves back to centre forward, and Brendan Egan moves out onto the wing.
