iTunes launches movie service in Ireland

Apple has today confirmed that internet users in Ireland are now able to rent or buy movies from its popular iTunes store.

Among the films available to download are recent hits such as Avatar, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Up, The Hangover and Iron Man.

iTunes movies start at €7.99 for older films, €9.99 for recent releases and €13.99 for new releases.

Movie rentals begin at €2.99 for older releases and €3.99 for new titles, while high definition versions are priced at €4.99

In future, new movies will be available for purchase on iTunes the same day as their DVD release, and can be viewed on an iPod, iPhone, Mac or PC or on a widescreen TV with Apple TV.

With iTunes Movie Rentals, customers have up to 30 days to start watching it, and once a movie has begun users have 48 hours to finish viewing it.

iTunes movie purchases and rentals require a valid credit card with a billing address in Ireland.
