It is the third time the Euromillions jackpot has been won in Ireland.

The last Irish jackpot win was last July when a family claimed some €15 million. That winning quickpick ticket was purchased in Carrickbeg, Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary.

However, Limerick woman Dolores McNamara remains the State’s biggest lottery winner, after scooping € 115 million in the Euromillions in 2005.

There was also one jackpot winner in the Irish Euromillions plus draw winning €500,000.
