DEPRESSION SEMINAR:Psychotherapist and author Dr Aine Tubridy will lead a one-day seminar on depression on Saturday from 10am to 5pm in the Institute of Psychosocial Medicine, 2 Eden Park, Dún Laoghaire.

In the seminar, Tubridy will look at the emotional and spiritual dimensions of depression, the linked emotions of anger and anxiety and how thoughts and belief systems can influence mood. Cost €€100, tel: 01- 2800084

A CHANGING POPULATION:Meeting the needs of changing populations is the theme of a conference on Thursday and Friday organised by the Housing Advisory Committee of the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland at the Red Cow Hotel in Dublin.

A public exhibition of special aids and equipment necessary to enhance living conditions for people with disabilities will run alongside the conference.

ART IN AN AGE:Medicine and the Arts is the theme of a free lecture series at the National Gallery, Merrion Square, Dublin this month. The series, which runs on Thursdays at 6.30pm and starts on November 15th, will look at Great Artists in Older Age, Ageing and the Self- Portrait and The Art of Ageing.

The lectures are run in conjunction with Tallaght Hospital and the first lecture will be introduced by Prof Des O'Neill, consultant geriatrician at Tallaght Hospital. Tel: 01- 6615133 for more details.
