Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle? I’ve a pretty healthy lifestyle

Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?I've a pretty healthy lifestyle. I've been more conscious of it as I've got busier. There are a lot of balls in the air at the moment and your stamina and your physical wellbeing are going to be what protects you and your brain.

How often do you exercise?

I’d be pretty active, my job entails me running around so on a basic level, I’m in motion. In terms of dedicating time to exercise, it would be two or three times a week. I’ve never been into the gym. I do Bikram yoga – it’s 40-degree heat for an hour and a half. It’s very sweaty and it’s very bendy and it’s great for core strength and suppleness. I’ve recently discovered there’s the possibility of an extension to your day if you get up at the crack of dawn and do a 6.30am class.

Do you get your five a day?

I definitely do. Every morning, I do a fruit and vegetable juice for all the family. That could be anything from spinach, kale, celery, carrots, cucumber, fennel or ginger, sweetened up with maybe pineapple, orange or apple. I try to do half fruit half veg. I’ve twins who are turning eight and there are always great discussions about the colour and the taste of it.

Do you worry?

I used to worry a lot more but I would be more contemplative rather than bombastic. You could get very stressed so for me, it’s about having that physical strength as a cushion for mental strength. Also exercise is a major stress relief.

What do you do to relax?

I walk down the South Wall and back with friends and have a bit of a yak, or reading a book, cooking, hanging out with the kids, and going to the park. I have to make a really concerted effort to just leave work at the door when I come home and that’s something I actively do.

What’s your unhealthiest habit?

I eat too much salt. I have a really guilty love of Cheese Puffs. Im not a smoker and I’d limit drinking to the weekend.
