Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?

Yes, pretty healthy. I eat well, I love to cook and I love good, fresh food.

How often do you exercise?

I’ll be spending Christmas running up and down Tara Hill in north Wexford trying to get ready for “To Hell and Back”, a run I’m doing in aid of Amnesty International. I’ve been so busy over the past month, I haven’t exercised as much so I’m panicking a little bit now.

It’s described as “Ireland’s toughest 10k” and it was designed by an army ranger. Essentially, it’s an obstacle course up and down the Little Sugarloaf. I drive by that every day and say, “You’re not that little really”.

I’ve never done a 10k before. I’m curious to see if I will look back after and say, “You’re a bloody idiot” or whether I’ll go, “That was great fun.” It does look like a scream and a rather ridiculous thing to do.

Do you get your five a day?

I’d say I get between three and five a day. I’d have a couple of pieces of fruit in the car on the way to work . . . so I’d probably get close enough to the five.

Do you worry?

No. Up until my 30s, I worried about everything, but I suppose as I passed through my 30s, I found that worry never really solved anything. No matter how stressed or busy or crazy things get, I always think, at some point, my head will hit a pillow tonight and I will sleep.

What do you do to relax?

I love to cook. I spend most of my week working out what I will cook at the weekend. I enjoy spending time with the kids, exercise or cinema visits.

What’s your unhealthiest habit?

Black coffee. I could easily drink five or six cups of coffee a day. I could drink a double espresso and go to sleep an hour later.

The one thing I need a lot of is sleep but my work life doesn’t always help me get enough.
