If you do one thing this week . . . keep active over Chritsmas

For many of us, Christmas holidays are about celebrations with loved ones, plenty of food and drink, visiting relatives and going to the pub with friends we may not normally see during the year.

That’s as it should be – but it could do your body and mood a power of good to work physical activity into the mix too.

Do you really need to take the car if you are going out visiting? And what about meeting for those friends not in the pub, but wrapping up as the weather dictates and going for a walk during daylight somewhere scenic instead?

And if people in your house are starting to meld with the couch as they stare at new computer games, perhaps organise a game of football in the garden or park that gets everyone moving.

When this week is over and the new year chimes, you will be fighting fit and hitting the ground running.
