A public appeal has been issued by gardaí in Dublin as they attempt to identify the body of a man discovered in the River Liffey almost two months ago.
The man's body was taken from the River Liffey at Custom House Quay on May 14th.
Results of a post mortem, carried out by deputy State pathologist Dr Michael Curtis, indicated that the body had been in the river for up to six months.
Gardaí say the dead man was between 5" 8' and 5" 9' tall and was approximately 45 years of age.
He was wearing a brown hoodie with "Everlast" printed in blue on the back, a black leather belt with `Levi¿ on the buckle, a pair of "Hoi Polloi" jeans, navy "Lacoste" tracksuit bottoms with a white stripe under the jeans and white "Y-3" runners.
The man was also wearing two sets of plastic rosary beads around his neck - one white and one blue.
Gardaí at Store Street are investigating the case and have called on any member of the public who might have information to contact them on 01 6668000.
