Four held in Dublin over international terrorism

Four men have been arrested in Dublin as part of an ongoing Garda investigation into international terrorism.

Four men have been arrested in Dublin as part of an ongoing Garda investigation into international terrorism.

The men, described by a Garda spokesman as non-nationals, were arrested this morning during a swoop on five premises on the south side of Dublin city - believed to be Tallaght, Ballinteer and Rathmines.

The four men are aged between 24 and 39. The spokesman would not give any further details as to the men's identities or nationalities.

However, it is believed three of them are Lybian and one is Algerian. One thought to be an Irish citizen, a family man and has lived here for over 20 years.

Two of the men were taken to Terenure Garda station, and the others are being held at Kevin Street.

All four are being questioned under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act. They can be held for 72 hours before being charged.
