Man (22) held over Paul ‘Frank’ Byrne murder

Gardaí have made an arrest in connection with the murder of Paul ‘Frank’ Byrne, whose remains were found in Co Wicklow in 2010.

Mr Byrne (20) was last seen at his home at Kilmartin Green, Tallaght on July 15th 2009. His remains were not found until more than a year after he disappeared.

Following an extensive search operation, skeletal remains belonging to the father-of-two were discovered at Ballyfolan, Blessington on July 29th 2010.

A 22 year-old man was arrested under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act by gardaí in Blessington on Saturday morning as part of an investigation which has been ongoing for the past six years.

Gardaí and family members had issued numerous appeals for public information during the intervening years.
