Cooper to replace Dunphy on 'Last Word'

Mr Matt Cooper has stepped down as editor of the Sunday Tribuneto succeed Mr Eamon Dunphy as presenter of the Last Wordprogramme on Today FM.

Mr Cooper, who had been in the hotseat at the paper since 1996, has stood in as presenter on several occasions and will officially join the programme in January.

It is understood the position carries a salary over €100,000. The show has a daily listenership of over 170,000 people.

Mr Cooper will also continue as a writer with the Sunday Tribune. The newspaper will immediately begin seeking a new editor.

"I look forward to joining the team on a full-time basis, and picking up the baton from Eamon, a man who has made a wonderful success of the show. I have enjoyed my time at the Sunday Tribuneenormously and this is the only job that I would have left the paper for".
