Members of the Irish Nurses' Organisation (INO) at St Joseph's Hospital in Clonmel in Co Tipperary will tonight decide on whether to ballot its members on possible strike action.

Nurses at the Tipperary hospital say they have been forced to consider such action as a result of overcrowding and in particular the placing of beds in corridors.

The INO says overcrowding at the hospital is not being addressed.
