The Slattery's Camera Circle Photographer of the Year is Kieran Clancy of the Irish Examiner newspaper. The winning Print of the Year was by David Sleator of The Irish Times, while the Irish Independent won the newspaper award.

Other winners in the 37th Slattery's annual exhibition of the 100 best press pictures, of the year 1999/2000, which was opened yesterday at the Royal Dublin Hotel by Senator David Norris, included Paul Hayden and Frank Miller of The Irish Times.

Freelance Photographer of the Year was Gerry Mooney, while the Peter Slattery Memorial Trophy was won by Steve Humphreys of the Irish Independent. Paul Hayden of The Irish Times won the Printer of the Year award.

In the Personalities section first and second prizes were won by David Sleator and Frank Miller, respectively, of The Irish Times. Third prize went to Kenneth O'Halloran of the Irish Independent, who also won first prize in the Features section.

Second and third prizes in the Features section were won by Steve Humphreys and Tom Burke, respectively, of the Irish Independent.

First prize in the News section was won by Kieran Clancy of the Irish Examiner. Second prize in this category was won by Brenda Fitzsimons of Allpix/the Star, and third prize went to the Irish Independent's Tom Burke.

Kieran Clancy also won first prize in the Sports section, where second prize went to Gerry McGuinness of the Sunday World and third prize to David Sleator of The Irish Times.

Judges for the competition were Tom McElroy, Eamonn Gilligan and Donal Slattery.
