THE FAMILY of a Co Leitrim woman who has been missing for five days has appealed for information to help find her.

THE FAMILY of a Co Leitrim woman who has been missing for five days has appealed for information to help find her.

Caitríona Horan (22), a law graduate of Trinity College Dublin, was last seen outside the gates of the college last Wednesday at 5.15pm.

She walked in the direction of Dame Street in Dublin city centre. A friend had been given the impression that she was going to visit her sister in Ashtown, Co Dublin.

She was living at home with her mother in Drumkeerin, Co Leitrim, and was not working.

She did not respond to texts or calls on Wednesday, but did turn her phone on Thursday morning to send a message to her mother requesting that people leave her alone.

She also withdrew some money from her bank account on Thursday somewhere in Dublin.

She has not been heard from since then.

Her sister Sinéad said the family were very concerned about her disappearance. There is no indication that she has left the State.

Sinéad said her sister was in a “fraught” state of mind when she disappeared and they were appealing to her or to anybody who knows where she is to come forward.

“Everybody just wants her home,” Sinéad said.

“We’re not annoyed with her. We love her very much. We’re clinging to the belief that she just wants to get away from people for a few days, but five days is too long.”

Caitríona plays traditional music on the flute. She was an active player with Comhaltas all around the west and was a regular session-goer.

When last seen she was wearing a dark grey single-breasted winter tweed-effect jacket, black tights or leggings and black boots.

She is  5ft 5in, slim, with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes.
