STRICT ANTI-touting measures will be introduced for the sale of tickets to see teenage superstar Miley Cyrus’s two concerts at the O2 in December.

Cyrus, the star of the television show and movie franchise Hannah Montana, will play two sit-down concerts at the venue on December 16th and 17th.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am on tomorrow. Such has been the demand for tickets that the pre-sale yesterday morning froze the Ticketmaster web page.

Only four tickets, which are priced from €65.50 to €85.25, can be bought at a time, and the original purchaser must turn up in person on the night with either a passport or a driving licence as proof of ID. They must also turn up with the original credit/laser card used to buy the tickets. There will be no exceptions.

Aiken Promotions said it would cancel any tickets they saw for sale on the internet. A spokeswoman said the measures had been introduced because of the anticipated demand for tickets to see Cyrus, who is a cult figure among pre-teens.

“We understand that parents will be buying these tickets for their children,” she said. “We don’t want them to be subject to ridiculous demands from touts for tickets.”
