40,000 to run in mini-marathon

Over 40,000 women are taking part in the Tesco Ireland/Evening Herald Women's Mini Marathon in Dublin tomorrow

Over 40,000 women are taking part in the Tesco Ireland/Evening Herald Women's Mini Marathon in Dublin tomorrow. The race will start at 3 p.m. from Fitzwilliam Square.

The event is expected to be the biggest yet, with an estimated £4.5 million going to charity.

There will be major traffic disruptions all day. Signposted diversions will be in operation along the route, and the following roads will be closed: St Stephen's Green South from 6 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.; St Stephen's Green East from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.; St Stephen's Green West and North from 12.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.; Lower Leeson Street from 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.; Upper Fitzwilliam Street, Fitzwilliam Place, Merrion Square East and Merrion Street from 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.; Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Merrion Square East and Lower Mount Street Lower from 2.50 p.m. to 3.45 p.m.; Northumberland Road, Lansdowne Road and Shelbourne Road from 2.50 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Ballsbridge (outbound) from 2.50 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.; Merrion Road from 2.50 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Nutley Lane from 3 p.m. to 4.45 p.m.; Stillorgan Road (to Belfield) from 2.50 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.; Morehampton Road and Upper Leeson Street from 2.50 p.m. to 6 p.m.
