THE IRISH Crimestoppers Trust has offered a €10,000 reward for information that leads to the discovery of 17-year-old Daniel McAnaspie.

Daniel, who is from Finglas, was last seen in the Whitestown area of Blanchardstown between 3.30am and 4am on Friday, February 26th last.

Gardaí also appealed yesterday for anyone with information that might help them identify Daniel’s whereabouts, to contact the trust.

The trust, or Crimestoppers as it is popularly known, was set up in 1998 by the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and An Garda Síochána to provide a confidential means for citizens to report crime at 1800 25 00 25.

Gardaí have also been handing out leaflets at checkpoints in the Whitestown area.

Det Insp Colm Fox said “someone might have information that they think is insignificant which could actually be vital”. Callers to the phone line do not have to identify themselves.

Meanwhile, the Crime Victims Helpline said yesterday that some people who have contacted them seeking assistance are still dealing with memories of the crime decades later.

Maeve Ryan, national Crime Victims Helpline co-ordinator said many victims have not shared their feelings even with friends or family.
