HOTELS:ONE OF Dublin's newest hotels has been chosen as the guest hotel for tonight's Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTA) at the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD). The €80 million Gibson hotel, owned by entrepreneur Harry Crosbie, opened last year beside the O2.

The 252-bedroom hotel will host some of the VIPs scheduled for the event. Those likely to attend include Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall and former James Bond Pierce Brosnan.

The VIPs will be split between the Gibson and the Berkeley Court which is likely to be booked out given that it is a rugby weekend with Ireland playing France on Sunday.

The Gibson was built with VIPs in mind. It includes a private VIP corridor of nine rooms, including one junior suite, all with access to a private terrace on the 5th floor designed for use by VIPs, bands or private parties. It will also includes a spa, gym and outdoor hot tubs.
